CATERING
Spectators munched their way through 34,000 kgs of strawberries.
Pimms and water were the most popular liquid refreshment in the
first week. 60,000 pints of Pimms and 312,500 bottles of water
quenched spectators thirst throughout the fortnight, as did 14,000
bottles of Champagne.
CHARITABLE DONATIONS
A record total of £71,600 (as at close of play Saturday
6th July) raised from ticket resales will be donated to SPARKS
(the Sportsman's Charity), the Dan Maskell Fund (to help the disabled
and disadvantaged to play tennis), the National Playing Fields
Association and local charities.

RACKETS
The Championships stringing team worked round the clock to string
a total of 2,032 rackets comprising 60% for men, 40% for women.
In the first week, the stringers worked 24 hours a day and strung
1,018 rackets. In total this adds up to nearly 13 miles of string.
Roughly 65% was gut string, 12% hybrid (gut and synthetic) and
23% synthetic gut.
WIMBLEDON MERCHANDISE
Most popular items sold: over 12,000 towels, 6,600 milk chocolate
tennis balls in a tube 5,000 water bottles and 4,000 giant tennis
balls.
