Useful Travel Information

 

Car Park

 

See the location map to find your best link road. Follow the AA or police signs once you are in the Wimbledon area and look for signs for Car Park 5. For traffic information call the AA Roadwatch on 09003 401 100 or 401 100 from a Vodafone mobile telephone.

   

British Rail

 

Trains leave Waterloo at least every 10 minutes to Wimbledon, with the main train journey taking approximately 12 minutes. There are buses and taxis at the train station that will take you to The Wimbledon Experience at Wimbledon Lakeside Cricket Club.

   

Underground/Subway

 

Keith Prowse provides you with an all day Travelcard for the Underground, which is the Subway system in London. Take the nearest Underground tube station to Southfields (on the District Line - green line found on the London Underground maps), where a Keith Prowse Shuttle bus will take you to The Wimbledon Experience.

   

Bus

 

The 156 and 93 run frequently along the Durnsford Road and Wimbledon Parkside respectively.

   

Taxi

 

Taxis are available outside the Grounds on the ranks near Gates 4 & 5 on Church Road and at Gate 13 on Somerset Road. There is also a taxi rank located outside Southfields Underground Station. Please note a taxi without a yellow light on is already occupied.

   

Customs

 

What you can bring into England and Northern Ireland:
200 cigarettes or 50 cigars / two litres of wine / one litre of alcohol (over 22% proof).

   

Money

 

Money and Travellers Cheques can be exchanged at all major banks. Additionally the larger hotels and shops will either exchange money or accept Travellers Cheques. All major credit cards are generally accepted across England. Exchange rates vary from place to place, but the best rate is usually found in banks and airports. A fee is normally added for this service.
